Hi, I’m Jane Epstein
Nurse Practitioner, Sexual Health Counselor and Menopause Society Certified Provider.
My passion is helping women thrive (physically, mentally, sexually) through the menopausal transition and beyond.
Midlife women, busy with careers and raising children, can be blindsided and baffled by the symptoms of peri-menopause and menopause. All women deserve a safe space to talk about their changing bodies and their sexual relationships and to explore options to address the menopausal transition.
From my years as a nurse practitioner working with teenagers, I understand how little sexuality education our youth receive. Lack of information, culturally-induced shame and lack of a focus on our own pleasure can impact sexuality for our entire lives.
I currently provide menopausal medicine and sexuality counseling at Albuquerque Sex Therapy. And I prescribe HIV PrEP medication and offer other sexual health care at the NM Department of Health.
I received my undergraduate degree from Oberlin College, trained as a nurse practitioner at the Yale School of Nursing, and completed a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine. I am certified in menopausal medicine, completed the University of Michigan sexuality counselor program, and am certified in Sexuality Counseling by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT.)
I have spoken locally, nationally and on the TEDx stage about sexual self-esteem, about sexual empowerment and communication, and about menopause and midlife sexual health. Additionally, I taught yoga and prenatal yoga for ten years.
My husband and I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico where we raised our two children.
